History

Dr. Steve Miller DVM

River of Hope Ranch came to be as the result of two sister’s dream of transforming the lives of those whose hope had been crushed by the inevitable pain of this life. As young girls, we grew up in the shadows of an amazing man who dedicated his life to the services of keeping horses healthy. Our father was a veterinarian for over 40 years, so it was only natural to use these majestic, gentle healers in our ministry. River of Hope Ranch was founded on the truth of God’s word:

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. - Psalm 147:3

ROH believes that we are ultimately just willing vessels following the call to minister to the brokenhearted, providing a welcoming & safe environment needed for healing to begin. Since our inception in 2006, ROH has continually sought to expand our reach to those affected by trauma in any form.

For nine years, our friends from Cross Creek Stables graciously allowed ROH to call their farm home. In 2014, we were given the opportunity to have our own property to call home. With the help of many volunteers and loved ones, we now have a beautiful farm with a covered arena, 4 amazing horses and the opportunity to still expand with 17 acres.
